The last post brought up interesting memories of unusual pet names (like little Mischa above), and I got curious to know of other ones that might be out there! So.. I've done some thinking.
First, nowadays it seems to be common to find dogs named in the categories of alcoholic beverages, like Tequila or Whisky, or traditional American nicknames, like Bill, Billy, or Bobby. However, more creative names that I've heard are inspired by famous "theorists", like Sig (after Sigmund Freud) and Nietzsche (I would be scared of a dog called Nietzsche, wouldn't you?). But I have to tell you that my favourite (and quite funny) pet names are those that represent the opposite of their characteristics -- for example, my brother once had a turtle which he called "flecha" (the portuguese for Flash)!
... So, go ahead, search your childhood memories and tell me of any embarrassing, funny or exotic names of any pets you ever had!! :)

hmmmm I never had pet's 'cos my sister always claimed all the pets as her own!!! And whenever I managed to try to steal them from her I would always use pretty logical names such as Cat Bird "Bichinho" he he he guess am not too creative!!! oh well!
xxx
ps. directly from Naples!
When I was a little girl I used to have a gray poodle named Yves (after Yves Saint Laurent), which expressed, since those times, my passion for fashion. As a 18 year old teen, I was given a brownish mongrel which I named Whiskey (you were right). I did love that puppy!!! Well, fashion and booze...what else would a girl need? Heheheh
XOXO,
B.
Well, I supposed to have creative stories to tell, but the truth is far from this. In my childhood I had a dog with a big black spot around the eye, what lead us to the obvious name "Pirate". This dog whas very, very smart and a great goalkeeper. Later I had a female cat with a weird fur, and three odd colors: black, light gray and a very fake "blonde". This bizarre look granted her a unique name: Cindy Lauper.
wow, I'm getting comments from Naples! cool! :) ninne, poor you.. you should buy yourself an exclusive pet.. otherwise you might grow up to be a frustrated adult (a psychologist should comment on that) ;)
B., fashion and booze really say something!! hehehe.. but I liked Yves though.. with a French accent and everything??
Beto, Cindy Lauper sounds great! hahaha.. very good one!
.. and actually it matches B.'s pet names above: fashion + booze = "girls just wanna have fun" ;)
Just excuse my poor, poor english. Rusty, u know...
ah, come on, your english is perfectly fine!
Thank you very much Mai. You're so kind.
